The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Since 1991 The Brian Jonestown Massacre has been making some of the most stunning music ever heard. Their seven albums on Bomp, and their 1998 (Strung Out in Heaven, on TVT), have made them heroes to a growing cult around the world. BJM has spawned or influenced many of the most interesting new bands of the past decade, from The Warlocks to The Dandy Warhols. They continue making some of the best music to be found, and touring to a growing audience around America and the world. Anton Newcombe, the group's guiding genius, has also created The Committee to Keep Music Evil, a label that, in partnership with Bomp, is recording many of the most promising new bands discovered by Anton while on tour. To date The Committee has released albums featuring Dead Meadow, a superb hard psych band from Washington, DC, The Snakes, the fabulous Telescopes from England, Matthew Tow's terrific pop band The Lovetones from Australia, Floorian.
